I have researched and compiled some of the best HR online courses to help you acquire new skills that will set your HR career apart. I arranged the courses with a beginner in mind, so I strongly advice that you to follow the courses as I have arranged them.

HR ANALYTICS:
I have been getting some requests regarding this, people are asking how they can learn HR analytics. The truth is, the complete courses that cover every aspect of HR analytics are quite expensive, and most people may not afford that. To this effect, organised self-learning is your best route; learning the different tools and skills, and then putting them together. So let’s start with the first. Statistics.
1. Statistic and Probability offered by Khan Academy.
Statistics is at the core of data and HR analytics. This right here is the best and only place for you to start as a beginner. Khan Academy offers what is in my opinion, the best free introductory statistics course you will find online. It’s progressive, starts from the very basics, with examples and you will love it. 2. Introduction to R offered by DataCamp.
When you’re done with the first course, you will have a basic grasps of data manipulation and all that stuff. The next tool for you to learn is R, your statistic knowledge will help you a lot here.
This free course will help you master the basics of data analysis by manipulating common data structures such as vectors, matrices, and data frames using the R tool. Register for free here now.
3. Data Mining with Weka – University of Waikato
This is next on the line. You understand statistics and R now, let’s dive into mining data.
This course is built around data analysis, and basic algorithm using a platform called Weka with enables you to learn how data mining works and how it can be applied to different set of people data. Weka user interface is drag and drop, so you can do this and understand the basics even with knowing how to program.

4. Analyzing and Visualizing Data with Excel – Offered by EdX
Next on the list is excel. There are lots of excel courses out there, but I found this one that is free, but with a paid certificate. It’s perfect because of the modules covered. You can take the course and ignore the certificate. Enroll now.
So, by this point, you are armed with basic statistics, R, datamining basics and excel. Your price has already gone up.
5. The Analytics Edge offered by MIT
This free course offers a comprehensive dive into data analysis. This is not a beginner’s course however; you need to have a basic grasp of R and Statistics to follow the lessons in the course. The course is offered for free and starts September, but you can enrol now and secure your place. Enroll here.
6. Introduction to People Analytics – MIPT
The entire course takes about 10 hours to complete and is split up into 7 parts with each a separate topic, including performance management, culture, motivation and engagement, compensation, recruitment, and workforce planning.
